Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk are scheduled to open December 11th, 2010. And Aspen Highlands Ski Patrol has a very unique way of recruiting help to open the Highlands Bowl. The bowl is an epic 45 minute hike to the Summit at 12,392 feet where the best steeps and incredibly deep powder is found! The ski patrol gives out the call to the Local "Powder Posse" who come hungry for powder. By helping ski patrol prepare the Bowl by packing down the powder and making sure the snow is stable, they earn their free pass to ski the powder before the season opens! What criteria is needed to be on the Powder Posse- the urgent need for powder that allows you to hike the bowl multiple times in a day and ski down plus an avalanche beacon.

Watch the video from this local Powder Posse member as he shows off the powder conditions on the bowl!

Book your Inn at Aspen lodging now so you can ski all of Aspen's powder! If you book by Dec. 1st you can get your 3rd, 4th or 5th night FREE!
