Introducing our New General Manager for the Inn at Aspen Hotel

The past few months have been quite eventful and exciting for our ResortQuest Aspen team.

ResortQuest has managed vacation rental properties in the Aspen area for many years. During that time, the hospitality industry in the mountains has undergone significant changes. We have, and continue to face critical decisions that affect our company and the homeowners and guests we have serviced over the years. With those key relationships in mind, ResortQuest made the decision to concentrate all efforts in the Aspen area to the management of The Inn at Aspen Hotel and withdraw from managing all other Aspen and Snowmass properties.

As of November, 2009, we transferred our management contracts for the homes and condominiums located in the City of Aspen to Frias Properties, and the recommended our Snowmass vacation rental homeowners to Alpine Property Management.

We are also very pleased to announce Bob Johnson as our General Manager of Inn at Aspen. Bob moved to the Aspen area in 1991. He was General Manager of Laurelwood and Interlude Condominiums for 15 years and spent the past year as Director of Operations at the Roaring Fork Club.

Bob has two children and is very active in the Aspen community; Vice President on the Roaring Fork School District Board of Education, Chairman of the Basalt Elementary Accountability Committee, Three Rivers Little League Baseball Coach, and holds many other community involvement positions. We are extremely pleased to have Bob join our team, to focus on the heartbeat this very special Aspen hotel.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be introducing our fabulous team at ResortQuest's Inn at Aspen. Let's start with getting to know Bob a little better!

A toast to Winter: Aspen’s 2010 Wintersköl January 14-17th

Aspen’s Wintersköl celebration or "a toast to Winter", is perhaps the best party, celebration and community gathering in all of the West’s mountain towns. And the calendar is packed for the 5 days of free (or nearly free) events suited for the whole family.
Wintersköl, Aspen’s annual “toast to winter,” dates back to a quiet January in 1951 when the lifts had closed and the local Aspenites decided to celebrate Aspen’s unique Nordic lifestyle with an eclectic weekend of festivities. Now a-days town in still thriving and tourists and locals alike get to have fun in the snow.

Activities:
Don’t miss the Wintersköl sculpt where six teams race to free their creation from enormous 8’x8’x8’ blocks of snow in only 48 hours! Or catch the "Surfing 50 States" and Surfwear Competition at the Wheeler, and don’t forget your crazy beach outfit- you might win $200! Hear incredible music from Keller Williams and The Wailers. Chill out with Men’s and Women’s Health Magazine as they drink wine, play games and dance away in the Gondola Plaza. You could race your way to piping hot apple streusel at the Apple Streusel Downhill or take you favorite family member (the dog of course!) to learn how to Skijor (it’s a combo of Nordic skiing and dog sledding). And no matter what events you get yourself into during Wintersköl - do not miss the torchlight descent and fireworks extravaganza! They really are some of the most fantastic winter fireworks. See complete schedule of Wintersköl events.
